Deadzone Windows Phone App
Lindsay Spare.
Deadzone quick reference app that I have built for Windows Phone
The app is both free to users, and free from ads.
.
The latest version features data for all published material so far for abilities, items, mutations, actions, units - including Contagion & Mars Attacks. It also has an in built Strike Team builder, with the ability to save Teams to the phone.
.
It was originally built it as a hobby project for personal use, but Mantic were awesome enough to approve publishing it to the wider masses (as long as it was free), so it now has a bit more polish and work put into it than the original iteration.
.
Features;
- general user interface for this app will be quite familiar to most windows phone user’s
- starts off presenting the user the available quick reference categories; Abilities, Actions, Factions, Items & Mutations.
- once the user has tapped on a category, they are taken to the alphabetised list, by name, of the relevant category. A tap on a name here will load the relevant detailed information.
- The ‘Factions’ category will list each of the factions available in Deadzone, including mercenaries, and when a faction is tapped, will load an alphabetized list of all the units available to the faction, which in turn, will load the the ‘stat card’ for the unit.
- Very straight forward, very easy to use, and much easier than trying to remember which rule was in what book, where in said book etc
-Swiping to the side brings the user to the Strike Team builder
-another swipe will take them to a quick launcher for recently saved Strike Teams
-user can view (and edit) all saved Strike teams, or create one.
-When creating, they choose a faction, set the points limit for the team, and set a name, and are taken to where they choose their units.
-select from all available units to the faction, including mercenaries that will work for them, from a selector box.
-Once picked, they press the add button to include it in the list.
- unit can be deleted, by pressing the select button, then marking a unit and pressing the delete button.
-Strike Team is validated against the normal composition rules, which is displayed across the top of the screen.
-Running points total, number of Trooper models, leaders, specialists etc.
-If the points total exceeds the set limit, or the trooper count is too low, then then errors become highlighted at the top as well.
-While a team is legal, it can be saved at any time. As soon as it becomes illegal, it is no longer able to be saved.
-list of up to 8 of the most recently saved Strike Teams are shown on the quick launch section, showing the faction, team name and points total of the list.
.
The app is only for Windows Phone at this stage, but who knows what the future will bring.....
